It's a very annoying problem to have duplicate entries in your phonebook... And it is a difficult problem to eliminate them automatically. But we have done our very best to come up with a good solution!
First, be aware of the difference between
identical
and
similar
entries. Identical entries have all data fields exectly the same. Similar entries have one or more fields identical (e.g name), but not all.
Identical duplicates:
Easy handeling, just synchronize your device and they will be removed automatically!
Also applies to Calendar duplicates.
Similar duplicates:
A user friendly de-duper tool will be launched in Q2 2011 to quickly merge similar contacts.
